LAHORE:The Inter-District competitions of Chief Minister Punjab Summer Games concluded with some thrilling final matches at different venues of Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) on Wednesday. The mega sports event was organized under the banner of Punjab Sports Department.
The Lahore district team was declared winners of Inter-District CM Punjab Summer Games girls hockey event. Sheikhupura grabbed second position followed by Nankana Sahib and Kasur with third and fourth positions respectively. Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum was the chief guest while Deputy Director Chand Perveen and District Sports Officer Lahore Tanveer Abbas distributed prizes at the girls’ hockey event.
In boys’ kabaddi event, Nankana Sahib team defeated Kasur by 44-32 and was adjudged winners while second position went to Kasur. Sheikhupura district shocked Lahore by 26-22 to take third position while astonishingly, Lahore finished at bottom in boys’ kabaddi event. MNA Saiful Malook Khokhar was the chief guest at kabaddi event while MPA Malik Shahbaz Khokhar and other officials were present on this occasion. In boys’ badminton event, Lahore thumped Sheikhupura by 3-1 to clinch Team Event Boys title. Lahore grabbed first position, Sheikhupura second, Nankana Sahib third and Kasur finished fourth. On girls’ side, Lahore routed Sheikhupura by 3-0 to bag Team Event title. Lahore got top position, Sheikhupura remained runners up, Kasur took third position while Nankana Sahib finished fourth in the event. In boys’ volleyball final event, Sheikhupura district volleyball team demonstrated excellent fighting skills and stunned experienced Lahore team convincingly by 2-0 (25-14 and 25-21).
