Chawla inaugurates Motor Registration Wing’s executive centre in Clifton

Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla inaugurated the Executive Center Motor Registration Wing in Clifton on Monday.

The establishment of the Executive Center Motor Registration Wing will facilitate motor registration for the people of Clifton and adjoining areas, and motor registration facilitation centers will be opened in all divisions of Sindh, including Karachi, he said while talking to media representatives after the inauguration of the wing.

Secretary Excise Muhammad Saleem Rajput, DG Excise and Taxation Muhammad Iqbal Leghari, directors and a large number of media representatives were present on this occasion.

Chawla said more motor registration facilitation centres are being established for public convenience and accessibility, and after Muharram, such centres will be inaugurated in all divisions across Sindh, including other districts of Karachi.

He said the public used to have a lot of difficulty in reaching the Civic Centre, so today this Executive Facilitation Centre has been established in Clifton so that the residents of Defence and Clifton and the surrounding areas can get convenience.

The minister further said that initially it will work from 9am to 5pm and after Muharram this centre will be activated 24 hours. He said all kinds of facilities will be provided to the public here and this system is connected to the online Civic Centre.

He said that we have passed the bill and will go ahead and build more centres under public-private partnerships, and we will build two centres each in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and then we will go to the district level.

On a question regarding anti-drug operations, Minister Chawla complained to the media that breaking news is being made on half a gram, but the media does not report on the drugs seized in large quantities properly, and an effective crackdown is being carried out indiscriminately regarding drugs.

He said that in the recent cabinet meeting, the issue was raised that the court grants bail and drug dealers become active again after being released from jail. In this regard, special courts are being formed where the sentencing process will be expedited and efforts will be made to ensure that drug dealers are not given bail, he added.

Chawla said we will ask the special court to collect the case property as a sample and destroy the remaining drugs immediately. He said that if drug dealers do not get bail soon, it will have positive results.

He requested the media to point out that the government will take action. The government has decided to take strict action in this regard, while operations are also underway against drug dealers in the interior of Sindh.
