CDA approves new framework for land acquisition process
Islamabad:With promulgation of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ordinance, 2025, the CDA Board has approved a new framework regarding acquisition of land and payment of compensation.
As per the Statutory Notification (SRO) issued with signatures of Secretary CDA Board, the office of the Deputy Commissioner CDA has been entrusted the responsibility of the announcement of awards (both land and Built-up Property), payment of compensation and provision of rehabilitation of resettlement benefits to the affectees.
All offices with the Land and Rehabilitation of Directorate including the Additional Director (Estate Affectees), Deputy Director (Land and Rehabilitation), Accounts Officer and others will be under the administrative control of Deputy Commissioner CDA. At least two Deputy Directors and one Additional Director will be placed at disposal of Deputy Commissioner CDA to expedite and streamline the working of the directorate.
All job description and responsibilities currently entrusted with the Director (Land and Rehabilitation) shall be vested with the office Deputy Commissioner CDA. According to the SRO which had been issued following promulgation of the CDA Ordinance, 2025 and its approval of new framework, the Deputy Commissioner CDA will ensure the use of the latest technology (Google imagery) to ensure transparency of the acquisition process.
The Engineering wing of CDA will also extend full cooperation to Deputy Commissioner CDA in finalising the list of awards of land and Built-up Property employing Google imagery priority the announcement of award by Deputy Commissioner CDA.
