What could have been…

This letter refers to the news report ‘Revealed: Pakistani-American tycoon met Imran several times in Adiala jail’ (June 2, 2025). According to the report, Imran Khan had almost agreed to take a sane route and not use anarchic pressure tactics to get his way but, due to bad advice from some of his close allies, he was misled yet again and convinced that millions would join the march on Islamabad earlier this year. This derailed what would have been a far better outcome for the entire country. Imran’s vulnerability to bad advice has been a problem for a long time now, including when he was PM. The end result is political conflict and disunity that is slowing down Pakistan’s progress.
