Youm-e-Takbeer marked across KP

PESHAWAR: Rallies were staged and functions arranged as the Youm-e-Takbeer was marked across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday with zeal and renewed pledge to promote unity to make the country a formidable force.

In the provincial capital, a function was held at the PMLN Secretariat. Federal Minister for SAFRON, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Amir Muqam said that the then prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, made Pakistan’s defense impregnable after successfully conducting six nuclear explosions on May 28, 1998.

He said that Nawaz Sharif did not bow to the international pressures and conducted the nuclear tests at Chaghi mountains in Balochistan in response to five such tests by India earlier in the same month.

“Now no element could cast an evil eye on Pakistan, which is the 7th declared nuclear power of the world and first of the Muslim Ummah,” he added.

Amir Muqam said Pakistan had given a befitting response to India in the Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy.

Paying rich tributes to the political and military leadership for the powerful response to India’s recent blatant aggression, Amir Muqam said that the spirit of the nation was historic.

He said that Pakistan had shown superiority in all fields against India and several warplanes including Rafale of the enemy were shot down. Amir Muqam said Pakistan would continue moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris.

A rally was taken out in Peshawar, which was led by PMLN MPA Malik Tariq Awan. The rally began from the Ring Road and concluded at the historic Balahisar Fort.

The party workers waved Pakistani flags from vehicles and chanted slogans in support of Pakistan, the armed forces, and against India.

Member of Provincial Assembly from PK-79, Peshawar- VIII, Jalal Khan arranged a ceremony to mark Youm-e-Takbeer. He cut a cake and distributed sweets on the occasion.

In Nowshera, the Youm-e-Takbeer was celebrated with great zeal and patriotism. Various rallies and public gatherings were held at different locations, drawing participation from hundreds of citizens.

A rally was organized under the leadership of Sheikh Arifullah, provincial president of Pakistan Markazi Muslim League.

The rally commenced from Khander in Nowshera, passed through Nowshera Kalan, and culminated at Shobra Chowk in Nowshera Cantonment, where it turned into a public gathering.

In Swat, the district administration organized a flag-hoisting ceremony followed by a rally, celebrating the country’s invincible defense.

Assistant Commissioner Headquarters of Swat Nida Iqbal, Additional Assistant Commissioner-I Babuzai Ikhlaq Ahmad, Tehsildar Babuzai, officials from the police, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, Tehsil Municipal Administration Babuzai, the Education Department, Public Health Engineering, and other district departments, along with a large number of citizens, attended the ceremony.

In Bajaur, the district administration organised a special event at the Jirga Hall in Civil Colony, Khar, which was attended by people from various walks of life, including students, teachers, government officials and local elders.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Shahid Rafiq Gandapur, Assistant Commissioner Sadiq Ali and others also attended.

Students delivered speeches highlighting the significance of Youm-e-Takbeer and expressed their patriotic sentiments through national songs.

Following the ceremony, a rally was taken out from the Civil Colony Jirga Hall, in which government officials, civil society members, the business community, students, and the general public participated.

Carrying the national flags and placards, the participants were chanting patriotic slogans during the march.

Several events were also organised in Charsadda to commemorate the day, including performances of patriotic songs by school children, who expressed their love for the country.

A rally was also organised by PMLN to celebrate the historic nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998. The rally echoed with chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” as participants marched in unison.

Meanwhile, the Markazi Muslim League organized a public gathering. Speaking on the occasion, its general secretary Hayat Khan said, “Twenty-seven years ago, Pakistan emerged as an undefeatable force in the region, and the nation continues to hold its head high with pride since then.”

In Parachinar, a large number of people participated in a rally, including tribal elders, youth, representatives from various schools of thought, and officials from the district administration.

Addressing the gathering, spokesperson for the district administration Aftab Khattak, trader leader Haji Imdad, Dr. Ali Muhammad, Malik Amjad, and Manawar Hussain emphasized that the purpose of celebrating Youm-e-Takbeer was to remember the historic day when Pakistan became a nuclear power.
