Levies cop dies in accident during polio duty
CHAKDARA: A sepoy of Dir Levies died and another sustained injuries in an accident during polio duty on Tuesday.Dir Levies’ Sepoy Sohail Khan, a resident of Ouch, and Sepoy Aziz Khan were on polio duty when they met an accident.
As a result, Sohail died on the spot while Aziz sustained injuries. The dead and injured were rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Chakdara, for medico-legal formalities and medical treatment, respectively.Later, the funeral prayer of sepoy Sohail was offered at the Dir Levies Headquarters in Chakdara.
The funeral was attended by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Arif Khan and other offials and a large number of Levies personnel.On this occasion, DC Arif said that the district administration would play an active role to ensure provision of Shaheed Package to Sohail.Following the funeral in Chakdara, the body was transported to his native village, Ouch, where he was laid to rest with full state honours.
