Mayor, ADB agree to construct parking plazas
A delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), including Hussain Hader, Julia Hallnagel, and Umer Shafique, met with Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab at his office on Tuesday to discuss initiatives aimed at supporting the sustainable transport sector.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to construct dedicated parking plazas in key downtown areas of the city, including MA Jinnah Road and II Chundrigar Road. The project aimed to ease traffic congestion and improve urban mobility, which had been a growing concern for the city.
Wahab emphasised the need for the swift implementation of the project, as well as strict enforcement, to provide immediate relief from Karachi's ongoing traffic and parking issues. Also present at the meeting were Akhlaq Yousafzai, Senior Director of Coordination to the Mayor, and Daniyal Alishan Siyal, Director of Media.
