Joint efforts pledged to maintain peace in Lakki Marwat
LAKKI MARWAT: The government officials and members of peace committees have reiterated that they would launch joint efforts to maintain peace and harmony in the district and thwart nefarious designs of anti-peace elements.
The consensus was shown at a meeting held at the deputy commissioner’s compound in the District Headquarters Complex Tajazai here on Saturday. Former federal secretary and a key member of the Marwat Qaumi Jirga Akhtar Munir Khan Marwat, former MNA Naseer Muhammad Khan, engineer Amir Nawaz Khan, Shafiullah Khan Begukhel and other elders were in attendance.
The government team was represented by Regional Police Officer, Bannu range, Sajjad Khan, Brig Imran Aslam, Deputy Commissioner Zeeshan Abdullah and DPO Muhammad Jawad Ishaq.
The participants reviewed the prevailing law and order situation and discussed strategies to counter terrorism in the district effectively. The government officials acknowledged the role of area elders and peace bodies in promotion of peace, restoration of normalcy and fighting terrorists along with law enforcement personnel.
