LAHORE
Hot and humid weather with scattered rain was witnessed in the provincial capital on Tuesday while for today the MET Office predicted similar weather conditions.
Maximum temperature recorded in the city was 34 C while humidity level was 56 percent. Rain hit the city late at night and continued with intervals. A total of 14mm rain was recorded in the city areas, MET officials said.
MET officials said seasonal low lay over north Balochistan with its trough extending eastwards. They said monsoon currents were continuously penetrating the country and were likely to continue during the next couple of days.
MET officials said that a westerly wave was present over Afghanistan and western border of Pakistan and likely to persist during the next 24 to 36 hours.
MET officials predicted rain/dust-thundershower with isolated heavy falls accompanied by strong gusty winds at scattered places in Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi, Naseerabad and Makran divisions), Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions) Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions), FATA, Islamabad and Kashmir, while at isolated places in KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu and DI Khan divisions), Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi divisions, South Punjab (Bahawalpur, Multan and DG Khan divisions) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rain was also recorded in various other cities of the country, including Sibbi (63 mm), Kalat (08 mm), Zhob (03 mm), Khuzdar (04 mm), Sh Benazirabad (40 mm), Rohri (26 mm), Larkana (10 mm), Badin (02 mm), Faisalabad (49 mm), Joharabad (30 mm), Khanpur (28 mm), Okara (25 mm), Murree (19 mm), Lahore (city 14 mm, AP 01 mm), Sahiwal, Sargodha and Mianwali (13 mm), Bahawalnagar (10 mm), Noorpurthal (08 mm), Chakwal (07 mm), Bhakkar (06 mm), Gujrat (05 mm), Gujranwala (03 mm), Murree (02 mm), Sialkot (01 mm), Malamjabba (25 mm), Balakot and Saidu Sharif (16 mm), Kakul (15 mm), Parachinar (09 mm), Cherat (02 mm), Kalam (01 mm), Muzaffarabad (06 mm), Garidupatta (02 mm) and Kotli (01 mm).
