Physically challenged persons seek facilities
BARA: The physically challenged persons on Thursday staged a protest demonstration and demanded that the government to provide facilities to them forthwith.
Holding banners and posters inscribed with slogans against the provincial government and Khyber district administration, the special persons gathered outside the Bars Press Club and asked the relevant departments to fulfill their pledges.
Tehreek Huqooq Bachao Mazuran chairman Asif Afridi and other members said that the disabled persons of Bara had been ignored time and again due to reasons best known to the officials concerned
They criticised the district administration and elected representatives from Khyber for their failure to facilitate the physically challenged persons and provide them with their rights.The speakers demanded special quotas in all federal and provincial government departments so they could get jobs and support their families with dignity.Later, the protest marched from the Bara Press Club to the Bara Tehsil Compound.
