Outlaw shot dead in Hangu
HANGU: A wanted criminal was killed in an encounter with police here on Thursday.Police officials said that the accused, Fareed, a resident of Afghan Muhajir Camp Hangu, opened indiscriminate fire during a domestic dispute. In the incident, he seriously injured his sister-in-law and a nephew with the intent to kill.
Upon receiving the report, a police team led by DSP City Amjad Khan and SHO City Mehmood Khan cordoned off the area. As the police approached, Fareed opened fire on the cops. The cops retaliated and the outlaw was killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.
Officials said that one pistol, seven live rounds and 16 packets of ice, weighing approximately 80 grams were recovered from the spot.They alleged that Fareed was known to be a habitual user and dealer of crystal meth, a dangerous and highly addictive drug. His addiction had rendered him mentally unstable and led him to criminal activities, including targeting his own family.
