IGP visits police facilities in remote areas
PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed on Tuesday visited remote posts of the province in Southern districts, including those close to the boundary with Punjab, to review the security situation. Regional police officers or Bannu, Kohat and Sargodha accompanied the IGP during the inspection of the posts.
The IGP directed that the number of personnel should be increased in the border posts of Lakki Marwat and Karak. He also directed to provide the latest technology, including drones and thermal scope fitted guns, to the police in these areas.
The IGP directed the officials to take effective steps to eliminate the hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij.IGP met the deployed personnel of the district police, Al-Buraq Force and Elite Force and listened to their problems and issued orders for solutions. He said a joint mechanism was under consideration to prevent terrorism, drugs and illegal movement.
