LAHORE: In a nation where economic inclusion often bypasses the marginalised, microfinance has sparked a quiet revolution — empowering women, uplifting communities, and transforming local economies.
On Saturday, the Rural Community Development Programme (RCDP) celebrated its Silver Jubilee at the Expo Centre, marking 25 years of impactful rural transformation. The event drew nearly 20,000 attendees, including staff, government officials, and microfinance sector leaders. RCDP Chief Executive Officer M Murtaza Khokhar highlighted the organisation’s remarkable achievements, noting that since 2015, RCDP has disbursed over Rs 90 billion in microloans to more than 1.9 million borrowers across 28 districts of Punjab, reflecting both financial discipline and deep community trust.
