LAHORE: SM Tanveer, patron-in-chief of the United Business Group (UBG), has extended his heartfelt congratulations to all chambers and trade associations on their monumental achievement in securing amendments to the Trade Organisations Act, 2013. He said the milestone aligns perfectly with the collective aspirations of the business community and marks a significant step forward.
The National Assembly amended the Trade Organisations Act, 2013, in line with the business community’s demands, removing a controversial provision. As a result, elections of all chambers and trade associations will now be held as scheduled in September 2026.

He said their exemplary leadership and perseverance were instrumental in driving the initiative forward. He added that the accomplishment was a testament to the power of collaboration and strong leadership. “I am confident that this success will have a profoundly positive impact on our business community and contribute to the continued growth and development of our economy,” he said.
