Murad, Sindh ministers hail armed forces at PPP’s Day of Gratitude rally
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and members of the provincial cabinet declared that "the butcher of Gujarat will not dare cast an evil eye on Pakistan again," as they paid glowing tribute to the country’s armed forces on Thursday evening.
Speaking at a ‘Day of Gratitude’ event organised by Karachi Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) at the Nishan-e-Pakistan, Sea View, PPP leaders praised Pakistan's Army, Navy and Air Force for crushing India’s arrogance within hours.
The ceremony was attended by provincial ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani, Syed Zulfiqar Shah, Sindh government spokesperson Saadia Javed, Samita Afzal, Ali Rashid, Karachi Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad and others.
The event featured a 40-foot cultural float organised by the provincial culture and tourism department, with artists performing patriotic songs in honour of Pakistan’s armed forces. In his address, the CM thanked Karachi PPP President and Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, and Culture Minister Syed Zulfiqar Shah for organising the grand event.
“We are grateful to the Pakistani forces and the nation who stood united in the face of aggression. Our armed forces made the nation proud and showed Modi the consequences of miscalculation,” he said.
“The butcher of Gujarat will not even think of waging war against Pakistan again,” he remarked. Ghani said our army shattered the pride of the butcher of Gujarat within hours, proving that Pakistan’s military strength stemmed not only from its equipment but also from its faith-driven spirit. He added that the entire nation stood united with the military, setting aside political and ideological differences.
“Anyone who dares eye Pakistan with ill intent will have their eyes plucked out,” he warned. Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah stated, “First and foremost, we bow in gratitude to Allah for granting us victory over the disbelievers. Our tri-forces humbled India’s arrogance in just a few hours, exposing the myth of its superpower status.”
He also paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the homeland. The culture minister extended congratulations to the entire nation, saying, “Today’s victory is the result of our armed forces' valour and the unwavering support of the people. Our military stands ready to protect every inch of this sacred land.”
Thousands of PPP workers and supporters from across Karachi participated in the event, which concluded with a spectacular fireworks display, adding to the patriotic fervour.
‘Dream shattered’
The brave soldiers of the Pakistan Navy, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and the Pakistan Army inflicted a decisive defeat on India, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said on Thursday during a ceremony held in Karachi to mark Thanksgiving Day and Victory Day, adds Salis bin Perwaiz.
The provincial government and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are observing Thanksgiving Day and Victory Day across the province. Memon said the success of Pakistan’s armed forces would be remembered by future generations, and would be recorded in history in golden words.
He said Pakistan has shattered India’s dream of becoming an Asian Tiger. A clear message has been sent to the world: if there is a true Super Tiger in Asia, it is Pakistan, he added.
He also said that this war was won not only by our brave armed forces but also by the entire Pakistani nation. “While the Indian media continued to spread propaganda, and the Indian government imposed restrictions on Pakistani channels, vloggers and YouTube streams, the role played by the Pakistani media remains unforgettable.”
Memon said that this war was also fought by the Bhutto family. India not only engaged in conflict but also feared that Pakistan might press the nuclear button, he added.
“It was none other than the leader of the people, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who made Pakistan a nuclear power. During this war, we also remembered Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. She too was symbolically present, as it was she who provided Pakistan with missile technology.”
He said that the supreme commander of Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari, played a leading role, and the third generation of this family, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, also stood at the forefront in this war.
He also said that the way Bilawal represented Pakistan’s cause in front of the international media is unparalleled. “This is the same Bilawal who, at the United Nations, called Modi the Butcher of Gujarat and the Butcher of Kashmir. The Bharatiya Janata Party retaliated by putting a bounty on Bilawal’s head.”
Memon pointed out that Bilawal still went to India and dared to advocate the case of Kashmir there as well. “I salute not only our brave armed forces but also the courageous members of the PPP.”
He said that the entire three generations of the Bhutto family were consistent in this war, and their services were at the forefront. As long as the world is alive, Pakistan will survive, he added. “Our youngsters have made the entire nation proud by defeating India in this way.”
Senior PPP leader Faryal Talpur described the historic Victory Day against India on May 10 as a symbol of Pakistan’s national unity, military valour and political harmony. Faryal said the celebration includes participation from all segments of the nation, including the chief minister, other ministers, assembly members, bureaucrats, representatives of the armed forces, and civil society.
“This win is Allah Almighty’s gift, and first of all, I would like to congratulate the entire nation on this great achievement. This win is not of any individual or party but that of every Pakistani who came together against the enemy and emerged like one nation.”
She denounced the Indian government’s cowardly action and belligerent attitude. She said that the whole country united to stand courageously against the enemy’s attack. She paid tribute to Zardari, the army chief, all the service chiefs, and especially the martyrs of the PAF.
She said Pakistan’s pilots not only overcame the enemy’s advanced and powerful air defence systems but also astonished the world with their skill and bravery. Their accuracy in hitting targets and safely returning after successful operations boosted Pakistan’s international prestige, she added.
She also praised Bilawal’s performance, saying that he put Pakistan’s case before the global media with great simplicity, fearlessness and clarity, successfully unveiling India’s propaganda.
SSUET rally
Students and faculty members of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) on Thursday held a rally at Sea View to protest against Indian aggression and to pay tribute to the bravery, sacrifices and defensive capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces.
Through this rally, the participants sent a strong message to the enemy that the younger generation stands firmly with the Pakistan Army on every front.
The SSUET spokesman said the students and faculty gathered in large numbers to show solidarity with the army, and acknowledge their role in safeguarding the country. With an overwhelming sense of patriotism, the students waved the national flag and enthusiastically chanted slogans in support of the armed forces, he added.
SSUET Registrar Cdre (retd) Syed Sarfaraz Ali said on the occasion: “The Pakistan Army is the guarantor of our national security and our pride. This rally is a testament to the fact that the entire nation stands with our forces, and our youth are determined to play their role in the stability and security of the country.”
Students expressed their unwavering support for the armed forces, emphasising that Pakistan’s military has always crushed the enemy’s nefarious intentions and ensured the country’s defence. They asserted that young people stand alongside the valiant soldiers of Pakistan on every battlefield, ready to confront challenges with resilience and determination. Students from various universities across the city also joined the rally, adding to the enthusiasm of the event.
