Two sons arrested as man found murdered in sack in Jauharabad

Police recovered the body of a man stuffed in a sack in District Central on Wednesday, and confirmed that he was murdered by his own sons.According to police, the deceased was identified as Khawar Anjum, a traditional healer (Hakim) originally from Mirpurkhas. Investigators revealed that Khawar was brutally beaten and strangled to death by his sons, Ibrahim and Afzal.

The suspects attempted to dispose of the body by transporting it in a sack on a motorcycle. However, they were intercepted by the police mid-route. Upon checking the sack, officers discovered the body inside.

Both sons had been taken into custody. The oolice stated that the family had been living together in a single room at Madrassa Zakariya Khairia. "The motive behind the murder is still under investigation," said the spokesperson for District Central police. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances.

Robbers killed

A suspected robber was killed by the firing of his own accomplice in Sherpao Colony, Quaidabad, on Wednesday.

Two unknown robbers entered a house in Katchi Abadi, Sherpao Colony, in the Landhi area with the intention of committing a robbery. The suspects snatched three to four mobile phones from the victim and were trying to escape when suddenly a boy saw them and made a noise. This alerted the locals, who gathered in the area. In an attempt to escape, one of the robbers opened fire, but the bullets hit and killed his own accomplice.

Additionally, a pedestrian woman, identified as Anjum, wife of Safdar Khan, was injured by the robbers' gunfire. The casualties were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. In another incident, an encounter took place between the police and robbers in the Jahanabad area of Pak Colony. After an exchange of gunfire, one robber was killed, while his accomplice fled the scene. Police recovered a pistol, and a case had been registered.
