Illegal structures demolished in LDA operation

LAHORE:LDA’s Directorate of Metropolitan Planning took action against 14 illegal housing schemes and land subdivisions located on Main Ferozepur Road, Ahlu Road and Aljanat Road here on Wednesday.

LDA teams demolished the roads, boundary walls and infrastructure of the schemes, and sealed the offices. Several notices were given to these schemes before the operation. The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Chief Metropolitan Planning. The LDA Enforcement Squad and the police participated in the operation.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of DG LDA Tahir Farooq, the LDA Town Planning Wing was active against illegal commercial buildings, commercial fee defaulters’ properties. LDA teams conducted operations in various schemes and LDA controlled areas and sealed 95 properties.

The teams conducted operations in Gulberg, New Garden Town, Shadman, Shah Jamal, New Muslim Town, UBD Main Canal Road, Sabzazar. 28 properties in Gulberg, New Garden Town, 35 properties in Shadman, Shah Jamal, UBD Canal Road, New Muslim Town were sealed due to illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercial fees. The teams sealed 32 properties in Sabzazar during the recovery operation. The properties sealed include private schools, clinics, bakeries, grocery stores, restaurants, food points, workshops, shops, offices, etc.
