Islamabad: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, held a key meeting with World Food Programme (WFP) Country Director Coco Ushiyama to discuss collaborative efforts aimed at improving nutrition and education initiatives for BISP beneficiaries. Deputy Country Director WFP, Rathi Pala Krishnan, and Director General BISP, Dr. Asim Ijaz, also attended the meeting.
Discussions focused on the School Meal Programme, development of the Nashonuma Dashboard, data sharing, and the repurposing of Nashonuma centers into counseling hubs for maternal and child health. Chairperson of the BISP stressed the importance of ensuring quality Specialized Nutritious Food (SNF) under the Nashonuma programme, highlighting its role in reducing stunting among children and improving maternal health.
