Islamabad:The easing of tensions between Pakistan and India has been welcomed as a significant development for regional stability, with global powers commending efforts to address the longstanding Pakistan-India issue, says a press release.

Dr. Tanveer Haider Gill, Chairman of the South Asian Centre for Knowledge and Analysis (SACKA), emphasized that peace in the region is vital for the progress of Pakistan, India, and other South Asian nations.

In a statement, Dr. Gill highlighted that ongoing tensions between the two countries have fueled challenges across South Asia. He urged global powers to take proactive measures to support peace initiatives in the region. Praising the leadership of both nations for implementing a ceasefire, he noted that the people of Pakistan and India are grappling with economic hardships, including inflation and unemployment, making any escalation unaffordable.

The ceasefire announcement has been described as a promising step toward stability. Dr. Gill called on both countries to prioritize peace and resolve all disputes through dialogue and negotiations, fostering a conducive environment for development in South Asia.
