Over 4,400 institutions register for PCB Talent-Hunt Programme
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has successfully concluded the registration process for its inaugural Talent-Hunt Programme, receiving overwhelming response from educational institutions across the country.
According to an official statement, more than 4,400 schools and colleges have signed up to participate in the historic initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing future cricketing stars. A total of 2,939 schools, 1,474 colleges, and 58 women’s colleges registered before the deadline on May 10, marking the end of the first phase of the programme.
The PCB will now begin scrutinizing the registered institutions before moving forward with player registration, the next critical step in the nationwide search for cricketing talent.
Among schools, Punjab leads the chart with 1,218 institutions, followed by Sindh with 777, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 419, Balochistan with 293, FATA with 111, Islamabad with 103, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir with 18.
The PCB’s Talent-Hunt Programme is being hailed as a landmark initiative in Pakistan cricket’s grassroots development. For the first time, the board is aiming to systematically scout both men’s and women’s cricketing talent from educational institutions and provide them with structured platforms and future opportunities to pursue the sport professionally.
