KARACHI: Pakistan’s flight schedule has almost returned to normal for the first time since the Indo-Pakistan tension. More than 15 foreign airlines, including Saudi Air, have also resumed flights and Haj flight operations from across the country are also rapidly approaching completion.
On the other hand, despite the ceasefire, 24 airports in India, including Amritsar, Srinagar, and Jammu airports, remain closed for the 8th day today, with 444 flights cancelled. The number of domestic and international flights cancelled from Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and various airports on Tuesday has dropped to 15. Several Gulf airlines and Turkish airlines have also started flights.
Efforts are underway to normalize Haj flights from Pakistan. According to airport sources, three flights from Sialkot to Sharjah, Dammam and Kuwait were diverted to Lahore due to operational reasons. The flight from Medina to Karachi and Quetta was also diverted to Lahore and Islamabad for administrative reasons.
Saudi Airlines has still suspended its flights to Lahore and Islamabad, while Its Haj flights have started from Karachi and other cities.
