KARACHI: Scholars, and religious and political leaders on Monday paid rich tributes to Pakistan’s armed forces for giving a befitting response to the Indian aggression. They said that Indian Prime Minster Narendra Modi has pushed the region to the brink of destruction.

Thousands of citizens attended the Bunyanum Marsoos conference organised by the Difa-e-Watan Council at Bagh-e-Jinnah. The participants were holding flags of Pakistan, and paid rich tributes to the country’s armed forces for their great victory.Mufti Taqi Usmani said on the occasion that they have all gathered at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to express their gratitude for Pakistan’s great victory.

Usmani said Muslims have been in despair for a long time, and they were eager to hear the news of their victory. Today every person in Pakistan is filled with feelings of joy, as the country’s forces have established their superiority all over the world, he added.

He said the victory was possible not only because of material equipment but also because of trust in Allah. “We will thank Allah Almighty instead of arrogance for this great victory.”He also said that today is the day of renewing the pledge to make the country subject to Islam. “We resolve to sacrifice our lives and properties for serving the country.”

We should also resolve to cleanse the country of corruption and bribery, say goodbye to petty differences, and stand with the armed forces, he added.Mufti Muneebur Rehman said Pakistan has defeated an enemy many times greater in strength. The Pakistani nation pays tribute to the country’s armed forces for this great success, as the entire nation stands with its army, he added.

Rehman said Pakistan’s people do not have a problem with India’s people, pointing out that the problem was created by Modi, who has extremist ideas of the RSS. Modi has tormented this region, and India wants to become the champion of this region, he added.

He said India’s people should live in peace in their country instead of burning this region in the fire of hatred, while a message of peaceful coexistence should be conveyed. The war of a few days has given a message that Pakistan cannot be defeated with the arrogance of arms, he added.

He also said if India does not get rid of Modi, the whole of India is likely to be destroyed. War is not Pakistan’s priority, but when war is imposed, courage should be shown, and the Pakistani nation should thank Allah for this victory, he added.

Mufti Noman Naeem said we are all united, and will continue to defend Pakistan. “We should value our army. Our army stands on strong foundations.”Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Sindh General Secretary Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro said we have gathered in solidarity with Pakistan and the armed forces. “We are always united for the defence of the homeland. The Pakistani nation and armed forces have crushed India’s pride.”

Maulana Manzoor Ahmed Mengal said Muslims all over the world are celebrating Pakistan’s victory. Mufti Tariq Masood congratulated the entire nation on Pakistan’s great victory. Pakistan’s armed forces made us proud in front of the world, he added.

Other religious scholars said Pakistan’s armed forces have established their supremacy in the world, and paid rich tributes to them for responding to India’s attacks. They said Operation Bunyanum Marsoos would be remembered in history.
