Rs1bn allocated for Hangu water project, says MNA

HANGU: Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Yousuf Khan on Sunday said that over Rs1 billion have been allocated in the Annual Development Program (ADP) for a mega project that would divert water from Orakzai to Hangu.

The water, which currently flows toward Kohat, will be redirected to help solve the severeshortage of clean drinking water in the entire Hangu tehsil. Talking to reporters here, MNA Yousuf Khan highlighted the increasing challenge of drought and lack of rainfall, stressing the urgent need for sustainable water storage and supply solutions.

In addition to the water project, he announced the construction of public parks in both Orakzai and Hangu. He also said that the hospital in the area would be upgraded to facilitate people.He also confirmed that work on the Hangu to Taal-Sarozai main road would begin soon, with funds already approved. He said that roads from Raisan to Shahu and from Zera Daburi to Shahu Daburi have been included in the ADP and will soon enter the implementation phase.“We are committed to solving the problems faced by the public. With their support, we will deliver meaningful progress and development,” Yousuf Khan said.
