PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed deep concern over the alleged illegal solving of recruitment examination papers for teaching positions at the hujra of a provincial minister in Bannu.
Calling the incident, a “serious mockery of the nation’s future,” Governor Kundi condemned the breach as a direct blow to meritocracy and fair governance. He praised the prompt action taken by Deputy Commissioner Bannu Muhammad Faheem and Assistant Commissioner Allah Nawaz Khan, who led a raid within the jurisdiction of Police Station Mirakhel. Authorities reportedly recovered exam papers, answer sheets, laptops, computers and printers from the Minister for Public Health Engineering Pakhtoon Yar and arrested 10 accused on the spot.
“This province is under the rule of ‘Ali Baba and the forty thieves’,” the Governor remarked, criticizing the provincial government’s handling of corruption. He referred to the widely discussed Kohistan mega corruption scandal and accused the ruling setup of handing the province over to a corrupt mafia bent on destroying the future of the next generation.
He further stated that following the revelation, the provincial minister involved should resign on moral and ethical grounds. “But in a province where even the chief minister is setting new records of corruption, how can one expect the ministers to act any differently?” he added.
