MANSEHRA: The Torghar district administration on Friday inaugurated a Basic Health Unit (BHU) to provide healthcare services to patients, as construction of the District Headquarters Hospital has remained stalled for years due to a shortage of funds.
“This facility will serve male and female patients who previously had to be taken far away for treatment. Doctors and staff have already been posted,” Deputy Commissioner Safdar Azam Qureshi told the inaugural ceremony held in the Manjakot area.
He said the government was implementing a comprehensive strategy to put Torghar on the path to prosperity by developing infrastructure in health, education, and road networks.District Health Officer Dr Mudassir Shah told participants that the government was actively working to overcome the shortage of doctors, medics, and other health staff in the district.
Naseer Khan, the representative of the local chairman of the District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC), MPA Laiq Mohammad Khan, said that the construction of the District Headquarters Hospital would be resumed soon.
