The committee met here at the District Headquarters Complex Tajazai on Thursday with deputy commissioner Zeeshan Abdullah in the chair. Among others assistant commissioners Faqeer Hussain and Sultan Noorddin Ahmer, additional AC Habibur Rehman, AFC Samiullah Jan and representatives of traders and consumers’ bodies were in attendance.
The meeting discussed the previous and market rates of essential commodities, a drastic decline in wheat price, hygiene conditions at business outlets, implementation of hygiene and safety measures by traders and other relevant matters with detail.
The traders’ representatives said that various food items were prepared from wheat products and after reduction in wheat and ghee price they had no objection to decrease the rates of roti, sweets, confectionaries, fast foods and bakery items.
