ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan Wednesday called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s speech in the House as the “boot polish and appease India speech”.
In his reaction, he wrote, “Just listened to Shehbaz Sharif’s speech. Absolutely insipid, grovelling and devoid of conviction. It was basically a ‘boot polish’ speech. “No strong threat to India. In fact, Shehbaz Sharif’s speech was an ‘Appease India’ speech”. Omar Ayub, who is also senior leader of PTI, said Pakistan must launch an immediate strong counter strike against India to teach it a lesson, which New Delhi would never forget. “We have to teach India and fascist Modi a lesson India will never forget. It is imperative that PM Imran Khan is released from Adiala to lead the country to victory, because he is the single person who can unify the country,” he said in a statement he issued on his social media account, following the Indian assault on Pakistan. He noted that India attacked Pakistan at multiple locations with air-launched missiles and cruise missiles. This is an open declaration of war. “I had been mentioning for the last seven days and indicated the probable locations,” he emphasised. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, as the largest and most popular political party, he made it clear, stands with the people of Pakistan and those fighting for its defence. “Together, we will, InshaAllah, defend Pakistan.” In another tweet, he revealed to have been diagnosed with viral double pneumonia and has been hospitalised since last night. “My prayers are with the people of Pakistan and the armed forces personnel, who will be defending Pakistan. Fascist Modi and India only understand the language of decisive punishing force. We must and have to strike India hard,” he asserted. He regretted that even at this critical juncture, where national cohesion is required, the installed form-47 regime of Shehbaz Sharif is raiding the residences of PTI MNAs. Special Branch Punjab has surrounded the residence of Ahmad Chattha, MNA. “Yesterday, PTI MNAs were manhandled and beaten by the Punjab Police at Adiala Jail,” he added.
