Flagship Millennium Campus I-9/3, Islamabad arranged a special feedback and reflection event for the recent returnees of the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Programme, says a press release.
The YES students met with Jeff Sexton, Director of Education and Communications at the USA Embassy, Islamabad as well as some other embassy officials and shared their exchange year experiences and recounted anecdotes about how their lives were transformed by acting as young ambassadors and bridging the cultural gap between the USA and Pakistan.
The students said that because of their exchange year, they have become more accepting of other cultures and have become more flexible and adaptable. During their year, most students said, they participated in various activities such as sports, debates, community service and many other opportunities that students rarely find in Pakistan. These students now are passionate about giving back to their communities in Pakistan and Roots Millennium Schools CEO Faisal Mushtaq and Jeff Sexton appreciated this attitude and ensured the students that the Roots Millennium Schools and the U.S. government is highly focused on community action and will provide resources to the YES alumni so they can become agents of change in their communities and create a positive impact around them.
