Suspected robber killed in police encounter

A suspected robber was killed in an alleged police encounter in Benazir Town, located in the Mauripur area, while his accomplice managed to escape.

According to police, the incident occurred when law enforcement officials intercepted two armed suspects reportedly involved in a robbery. Upon spotting the police, the suspects opened fire, prompting the police to return fire.

As a result, one of the suspects was shot dead, while the other fled the scene. The body of the deceased was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for legal formalities before being moved to the morgue for identification. The police claimed to have recovered a weapon from the deceased suspect and said raids were underway to apprehend the fleeing accomplice.
