6,000 trees planted on Walton Road greenbelts
LAHORE:The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore has completed its horticultural work aimed at enhancing the beauty of Walton Road. The project also included plantation and landscaping of greenbelts and central medians along 47 Road.Tree plantation and grass-laying have been carried out from Kainchi Road to Defence Road on the greenbelts and central medians.
Additionally, three oxygen pockets have been developed near the Peel Factory and Packages Mall. A total of 6,000 indigenous trees have been planted on Walton Road and 1,000 on 47 Road. Trees such as Ficus and Palm have been planted along the roads, while native species, including Alstonia (Al-Mutas), Buddha Tree, Sukh Chain, Sobia, Pelican, Cotton Tree, and Ashoka have been used in the oxygen pockets. Speaking on the initiative, Director General PHA Lahore, M Tahir Wattoo, stated that attractive trees like Ficus and Palm enhance the City's charm.
