Suspect arrested for attacking father, son

LAHORE:Model Town police arrested a suspect after a violent attack on a father and son in a private housing society was captured on video and went viral on social media.

The incident occurred when victim Waseem and his son Zain were traveling from D-Block to C-Block within the society. Armed assailants stopped their vehicle and brutally assaulted them using knives.

"Through swift action, we've arrested prime suspect Asif and recovered the vehicle used in the crime," confirmed SP Model Town Ikhlaq Ullah Tarar. Police are conducting raids to apprehend remaining accomplices visible in the viral footage.

Authorities have registered a case and are analysing CCTV footage to establish motives. "Protecting citizens' lives and property remains our top priority," SP Tarar emphasised, assuring enhanced patrolling in residential areas.

Shopkeeper held for attempted assault on minor girl

Harbanspura police Monday arrested a shopkeeper for allegedly attempting to assault a nine-year-old girl sexually. According to SP Cantt Captain (Retd) Qazi Ali Raza, accused Umar lured the child into his shop when she came to the shop to buy a bottle. He tried to assault her but the girl’s hue and cry alerted locals, who apprehended Umar and handed him over to the police. SP Raza commended SHO Harbanspura Asim Hameed and his team for their swift response. A case has been registered against the accused.

Two motorcycle thieves held from graveyard

Mozang Police apprehended two wanted motorcycle thieves, who were hiding in Miani Sahib Graveyard, on Monday. The suspects Sajjad and Haider were detained following a targeted operation.

Police identified the duo as members of an organised theft ring active across Lahore. DSP Irfan Akbar Butt reported that two stolen motorcycles and illegal firearms were recovered from the suspects, who are linked to multiple thefts in Mozang and surrounding areas. Cases have been filed against the accused.
