PPP, PTI filed reference without consulting opposition: Baloch
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami’s acting Ameer Liaqat Baloch said the leadership of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf and the Pakistan People’s Party had not consulted the Jamaat-e-Islami and other opposition parties before filing a reference for the prime minister’s disqualification and had taken the decision on their own.
Speaking at an Iftar dinner here on Saturday, acting Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Liaqat Baloch said it had been the unanimous demand of the opposition parties that an autonomous judicial commission be set up for indiscriminate accountability of corrupt elements.
Liaqat Baloch said that the Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf had not consulted the joint opposition before filing a reference for the disqualification of the prime minister although it was necessary that all opposition parties were consulted and an agreed decision was adopted.
