Rallies staged in Mansehra, Dir to express solidarity with Pakistan Army

MANSEHRA/ DIR: Rallies were staged in Upper Dir and Mansehra to express solidarity with the Pakistan Army.

In Mansehra, people from different walks of life, including traders, lawyers and transporters took to the streets in Balakot to express solidarity with Pak army and condemn Indian aggression.

“The entire nation is united behind Pak army to thwart any aggression if carried out by Indian forces on our soil,” said Peer Mazhar Shah, the minister information and broadcast Azad Jammu Kashmir government who specially attended the event. The rally, which was initiated from Madni Plaza, assembled at the same point after marching through different roads.

Holding a long national flag, the protesters raised anti-Indian, and pro-Pakistan slogans. The also set ablaze Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s effigy.The Azad Jammua and Kashmir government Information minister said that the entire nation was standing firmly with armed forces to teach a lesson to the Indian army if it made an attempt to sneak into soil on this side of the border. He said Indians should plunge the sub-continent into chaos and economic turmoil if they attack Pakistan.

Meanwhile, a massive rally was taken out in Sheringal in Upper Dir against India’s violation of the Indus Waters Treaty. Carrying banners and placards, the protesters chanted slogans against India and in support of the Pakistan Army.

The protesters also set on fire an effigy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, symbolising their rejection of India’s policies.Speaking on the occasion, Malik Mushtaq Saleh, Malik Manzoor Khan, Malik Shahid Saeed and Maulana Ziauddin said that the people of Dir were ready to make sacrifices for the country’s defence.

“The government should provide us with modern weapons as we are ready to fight against India,” said one of the speakers.During the protest, the main road from Dir to Kumrat was closed to traffic to ensure public safety.
