Woman, daughter murdered for ‘honour’
LAHORE:An incident of double murder in the name of ‘honour’ was reported in Suay Asal, in the jurisdiction of Kahna Police Station, where a woman and her daughter were murdered. On receiving information about the incident, DIG Operations Lahore, Faisal Kamran, took immediate notice and dispatched SP Model Town, Ikhlaq Tarar, to the scene.
According to the Lahore Police spokesperson, the heinous act was carried out by the victims’ own sons and brothers — Ali Hassan, Ali Zain, and Yousaf — who murdered their mother and sister. Initial investigations revealed that the two women had left home two months ago, after which FIR No 2506/25 was registered. When they returned home the previous day, the suspects killed them.
Police teams reached the crime scene immediately, but the killers had fled. Following directives from DIG Operations, a special team led by SP Model Town was formed, which successfully arrested the suspects within just one hour. DIG Operations ordered that the case be registered under police complaint to ensure strict legal action and exemplary punishment.
Faisal Kamran stated that crime against women is a ‘red line,’ and the harshest action will be taken under the law. He also commended SP Model Town Ikhlaq Tarar and his team for their prompt and effective response.
