Air safety
The safety of passengers and crew aboard aircraft is of paramount importance, as is the protection of the aircraft itself. To minimise the risk of accidents and improve overall operational safety, airport authorities must implement enhanced monitoring and oversight procedures, particularly during the critical phases of flight, take-off and landing. All airports should be equipped with powerful, high-resolution video cameras, capable of continuously recording aircraft during take-off and landing within a designated operational range. These cameras should operate 24/7, covering all runways and approach paths and must be monitored and managed by trained technical staff to ensure accurate recording and real-time response if needed.
Air traffic control staff must also maintain direct visual contact with aircraft during take-off and landing within a designated operation range. By implementing these practical and cost-effective measures, airport authorities can significantly enhance the safety and accountability of flight operations and reinforce public confidence in air travel, all while reducing the risk of avoidable incidents. This will make air travel safer.
