PESHAWAR: A policeman embraced martyrdom when unidentified persons opened fire on him outside a mosque in in Adezai area here on Tuesday evening.
Police officials said Constable Noor Islam was coming out of the mosque after offering maghrib prayers at a mosque in Adezai in Matani and when armed men opened fire on him. He succumbed to injuries on the spot. The attackers managed to escape. Police have started a search operation in the area. Some reports said he had retired from service a couple of months back.
