Police kill three suspects in two encounters

Police killed three suspected criminals in two separate encounters in on Monday, one in District Central and the other on New MA Jinnah Road.

Two suspects were killed during an encounter with District Central’s Taimuria police within the jurisdiction of the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police station. A police spokesperson said the incident began when the police, while on routine patrol, intercepted the suspects near Pyala Hotel. The suspects opened fire on the police and attempted to flee.

Police pursued them, leading to an exchange of fire near Gujjar Flats in the Rasheedabad area of Khawaja Ajmer Nagri. During the shootout, both suspects were killed. The process of identifying the deceased was underway. The oolice recovered two pistols, mobile phones, and a motorcycle from the suspects. The bodies were shifted to the morgue after medico-legal formalities were completed.

In a separate incident, another suspect was killed and his accomplice injured during an encounter with police near Parda Park on New MA Jinnah Road within the jurisdiction of the Jamshed Quarters police station. The shootout occurred when the suspects were allegedly robbing a citizen and were confronted by patrolling police personnel. The deceased and injured suspects were shifted to a hospital for legal formalities. Further investigations are underway.
