Iran’s decision to prioritise diplomacy over military confrontation with the United States is undoubtedly a wise choice. Under President Donald Trump, the US has adopted an increasingly aggressive stance towards Iran, seemingly looking for any reason to escalate tensions. Trump’s tariff policies have already taken a toll on the global economy, with the US stock market suffering a staggering loss of nearly $2 trillion. It seems that Trump, who promised economic prosperity and job creation, never anticipated that his policies would lead the US towards a recession. Now, with his domestic agenda unraveling, there are concerns that he may turn to foreign conflicts to distract from his administration’s economic failures.
