Woman cop shot dead in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: A policewoman was shot dead in the limits of Shahpur Police Station here on Saturday.
Police officials said a policewoman Tauseef posted in Charsadda was shot dead by unidentified armed men near Motorway interchange in the limits of Shahpur Police Station. Another policewoman, who was accompanying her, remained unharmed in the attack.
Senior officials arrived at the spot after the incident and started an investigation to find out any clue to the culprits.
Police investigators said the deceased cop was posted at the Naguman Police Station in Charsadda. They said that the case was being investigated from all angles. However, the police later nominated the spouse of the deceased, identified as Rahmat, in the case. Officials said the couple had a dispute.
Meanwhile, Jannat, a TikTok star from Peshawar, who was shot dead on Friday night, was laid to rest on Saturday.
Jannat had died and her sister was injured in firing on Dilazak Road in Faqirabad late Friday night.
Police officials said Jannat had died on the spot while her sister was shifted to hospital after they were shot by armed men. Police have lodged the case against one accused Abdullah and started an investigation.
