KSL trials get underway
ISLAMABAD: The trials to select young cricketers for the Kashmir Supreme League (KSL) started Friday at the Ayub National Park in Rawalpindi.
Patron-in-chief of the KSL and former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan and League’s Chairman Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Tanvir criticized the AJK government for denying KSL permission to hold trials there. He said that initially, the trials were to be held in Muzaffarabad but the government refused to provide any venue for the purpose.
Tanvir added that some elements in Azad Kashmir did not want success of the Kashmir Supreme League. Sardar Tanvir, however, appreciated the Pakistan Cricket Board and national security institutions for promotion of healthy activity amongst Kashmiri youth. He also condemned statement of AJK Sports Minister in which he raised a question as to why the cricket league was named after Kashmir.
