‘Providing safe working environment to women in public, private sectors top priority’
FAISALABAD: Punjab Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment Nabila Hakim Khan visited the Allied Hospital and the CEO Education Office to inspect the functionality of their anti-harassment committees.
During the visit, she directed that awareness banners and panaflexes detailing the anti-harassment law must be prominently displayed in all government offices. At the Faisalabad regional office, she also heard complaints related to the Higher Education Department and Allied Hospital. Additionally, she requested a detailed report on harassment cases received by the Allied Hospital’s anti-harassment committee over the past three years. Nabila Hakim Khan announced that training sessions for anti-harassment committees would be organised across Faisalabad division. She instructed the appointment of focal persons in all government departments and emphasised the need for a collective campaign to combat increasing incidents of sexual harassment in hospitals and educational institutions. “Providing a safe working environment for women in both public and private sectors is a top priority,” she said, urging the media to play a crucial role in raising awareness about anti-harassment laws and ensuring strict compliance with the code of conduct.
GCWUF HOLDS SEMINAR: The Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) hosted a seminar titled “Integrating Natural Products and Nutraceuticals for Wellness.”The event featured an inspiring exhibition inaugurated by the GCWUF Vice Chancellor. She applauded innovative student-led projects on herbal and nutraceutical products.
In her keynote remarks, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen highlighted the importance of a holistic and preventive approach to wellness. She stated, “We must prioritise integrating natural products into modern healthcare systems to ensure a more balanced and forward-looking approach to wellbeing.” She stressed connecting with the industry through ORIC and BIC to facilitate students’ startups and applauded the students and faculty for their research and products. The technical session brought forth insightful talks from top national experts. Speakers addressed emerging market trends, entrepreneurship, sustainable wellness and the integration of natural products into modern healthcare systems. The day concluded with souvenir and certificate distribution.
