Islamabad:The government has re-launched the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme as part of its efforts to empower the nation's youth through digital education.

Under the 2025 phase of the initiative, 100,000 laptops will be distributed to deserving students across the country, according to officials. They said the renewed effort fell under the broader framework of the Digital Youth Hub, a key component of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, which aimed to equip students with the digital tools and skills necessary to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven world.

The officials said the scheme was open to students from all academic disciplines and promised a merit-based selection process, ensuring fair and transparent distribution regardless of regional or educational background.

They said by prioritising equal opportunity and access to technology, the government reiterated its commitment to promoting digital literacy and educational development across the country.

The officials said 100,000 laptops would be distributed nationwide; merit-based youth selection would be ensured to maintain transparency, and the scheme would be open to students from all academic backgrounds and regions.

They said students could apply for laptops via the Digital Youth Hub platform, website pmyp.gov.pk, and specified mobile apps. The officials said applications should be submitted before May 20.

They said the initiative marked a significant step toward bridging the digital divide and creating a more inclusive and future-ready education system in the country.
