Three injured in lift collapse incident
LAHORE:Three persons including an old woman were injured when a lift collapse in a house near Baga Chowk, Kot Khawaja Saeed, Shadbagh, on Wednesday.
Rescue 1122 emergency teams quickly responded to the scene and provided first aid to the victims. The injured individuals were later shifted to a nearby govt hospital for further medical treatment.
200 students visit Investigation Headquarters
A group of 200 students from various universities in provincial capital visited the Investigation Headquarters as part of an educational study tour.
This marked the 17th batch to explore the facility, where they toured multiple branches to gain insight into police operations. Prior to this visit, the students had toured the Elite Training Centre Bedian, Operations Wing, Safe City, and Police Training College Chung. After completing these comprehensive visits, students will select a department of interest and participate in a one-week specialised course. The internship, conducted under the "Volunteers in Police" programme, will conclude with a certificate distribution ceremony by IG Punjab.
Meesaq Centres serve 4,279 minority people
The Lahore Police has reinforced its commitment to assisting religious minorities by providing legal services at its Meesaq Centres, benefiting over 4,279 individuals so far this year. A police spokesman reported that the three centres in the city have issued 511 character certificates to non-Muslim citizens and 110 to those from other districts. Additionally, the centres processed 2,849 general police verifications, including 691 for non-Lahore residents. They have also handled 55 missing persons reports, 32 criminal cases, and 18 issues related to underprivileged individuals, while providing FIR copies to 13 applicants.
Man arrested for harassing woman
Baghbanpura police arrested a man for harassing a woman on a public road. According to police, the incident occurred when the lady was alone and the accused identified as Saleem began making inappropriate gestures towards her. Upon her refusal to engage, Saleem allegedly threatened her with serious consequences. Following a complaint lodged by the victim, police arrested Saleem. A formal case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
Murderer arrested
Police have arrested a man accused of murdering 38-year-old Shabbir during a violent altercation in the jurisdiction of Barki Police. The suspect, identified as Yasar, was taken into custody and is currently under investigation. In a separate operation, Punjab Society Chowki police apprehended a suspected drug dealer named Jehanzeb and recovered one kilogram of charas from his possession.
