The government reportedly plans to save over Rs36 billion annually by abolishing 40,000 public sector jobs. The objective of this move appears to be ‘right-sizing’, however, the recent expansion of the federal cabinet somewhat undermines this effort.
The government needs to be wiser and more consistent in its decision-making.
