ISLAMABAD: PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram Sunday strongly condemned the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for its ‘hypocritical stance’ of publicly criticising the government on the water crisis while striking backdoor deals, betraying both Sindh and Balochistan.

He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will serve as an iron wall to protect KP’s people from the resource mafia and fiercely resist all attempts by the power-hungry elements to illegally exploit the national resources for vested interests.

He said the KP government will never compromise on the people’s rightful ownership of mineral resources come what may.

He stressed that the proposed mineral bill would only move forward after comprehensive deliberations and the final approval of the party founder Imran Khan.

Waqas said the PPP and PML-N were two sides of the same coin, willing to sacrifice national interests and plunder the country’s resources.

He alleged that the PPP and PML-N were hand in glove, and equally complicit in causing catastrophic damage to Pakistan’s political, social, and economic fabric, solely to maintain their illegitimate grip over power through undemocratic means.

He said Pakistan had been grappling with severe and unprecedented crises, primarily due to the criminal nexus between the PPP and PMLN.

Their alliance, he alleged, has not only paralyzed and politicized the state institutions by appointing compromised, retired, and incompetent yes-men and loyalists, but has also rendered these institutions ineffective through self-serving, person-specific, and agenda-driven constitutional amendments.

Waqas emphasized that the PTI was open to all constructive and effective suggestions from the stakeholders regarding the mineral bill.

He demanded that the controversial Balochistan Mines and Minerals Act 2025 be scrapped entirely, asserting that any such legislation must only be passed after thorough consultation with genuine and legitimate stakeholders.
