Hope vows to show his class
ISLAMABAD: Following a heavy defeat against Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans top-order batsman Shai Hope vowed to play with renewed enthusiasm going into the fourth game of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) X.
The West Indies leading batsman who has yet to show his class in the PSL X, following the loss at the Pindi Stadium Saturday, said that the team has to forget about these defeats.
He also spoke on Captain Mohammad Rizwan’s positive attitude.
Q: What is Rizwan’s confidence level like right now?
A: I think it’s the same Rizwan we always know him to be.
He’s one of those characters who always has a smile on his face and talks about positivity. He’s still a very confident guy.
Q: How do you feel you can turn things around after three defeats in a row?
A: We have to put these three games behind us and look forward to the next few. We’re going to our home venue now, and it’s a lot to look forward to. It’s not about how you start; it’s how you finish.
Q: Was the target of 228 chaseable?
A: Any target is chaseable if you’re batting second. In my honest opinion, it wasn’t a 200-plus pitch, but they played really well after those two early wickets. Credit to Haris and TKC; they were striking the ball very well.
Q: What did you think of the crowd?
A: It’s difficult to speak to an opposing crowd, but I love to see fans out enjoying cricket.
They’re just there to see good cricket, and it’s nice to see them in numbers.
Q: What are your thoughts on Ali Raza’s bowling?
A: He’s very exciting. He seems to be coming in with a bit of gas, and he’s certainly one that you can look out for in the future for Pakistan cricket.
