RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD: Security forces, including the ISI and other secret agencies, have raided a big spy centre and arrested 15 persons and recovered radars and other equipment from their possession in Gulshan Abad on Adiala Road, Rawalpindi, on Saturday.
The sources said that through this spy centre, situated in a very sensitive area, people used to monitor the GHQ, Dhamyal Airbase, Zarar Camp, Adiala Jail and other sensitive installations in the area. The three-storeyed spy centre was situated at the top of a hill in Gulshan Abad. The people of the area said that the movement of suspicious people was often noticed in that building.
The sources said that personnel of a secret agency had been monitoring the signals being received from the building for last few weeks and successfully detected the spy centre and arrested 15 people and recovered radars and latest equipment which were being used in the monitoring. More information is being expected from the arrested people. The Indian spy agency RAW’s involvement could not be ruled out in the establishment of this spy centre.
The security agencies are investigating the letters which were recovered from the site and whether this spy centre was under the use of terrorists. If so, who was behind it and did they want to achieve some large target in the area?
INP adds: The sensitive agencies arrested three most wanted terrorists besides making recoveries from their possession here on Saturday.
The sensitive agencies conducted raids in different areas of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad including Tarnol, Kurri Road and their surroundings during which three terrorists were nabbed along with arms.
Sources said that the detained terrorists belong to Fata and had been involved in many terrorist activities across the country. The arrested terrorists have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
