10,985 illegal foreigners deported

LAHORE:Punjab Police’s crackdown on illegally residing foreign nationals is continuing rapidly, under which 10,985 such individuals, including Afghans, have been deported from across the province.

IG Police Dr Usman Anwar said that during the campaign, more than 11,643 illegally residing individuals have been shifted to holding centers, while 658 are currently present at holding points. According to the spokesperson of Punjab Police, five holding centres have been established in Lahore and 46 across the province. IG Punjab said that the policy of deporting illegally residing individuals is being implemented in accordance with international laws, and security is on high alert.

113 drug dealers arrested

Punjab police carried out 211 raids on drug dealers’ dens across the province as part of the Drug-Free Punjab vision during the last 24 hours. A total of 113 drug dealers were arrested and FIRs were registered. Punjab Police spokesperson said that 48 kilograms of charas, three kilograms of crystal meth (ice), and 1,109 liters of liquor, along with heroin and other narcotics, were recovered from the possession of the arrested individuals. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has directed for further acceleration of special operations against drug dealers and smugglers.
