PPP strongly condemns police raid at MPA house
MULTAN: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) South Punjab criticized Rahim Yar Khan (RYK) police violence against PPP MPA Mumtaz Chang and demanded the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for action against the District Police Officer (DPO) and removal from district.
Talking to journalists here the PPP South Punjab Senior Vice President Khawaja Rizwan Alam and Chief Coordinator South Punjab Abdul Qadir Shaheen strongly condemned the police brutality against MPA Mumtaz Ali Chang and said that all the office bearers and workers of PPP South Punjab are enraged and furious against DPO’s criminal action against MPA Mumtaz Ali Chang.
The PPP office bearers said that Mumtaz Ali Chang’s fault is that he exposed robbers’ patrons in police and he raised his voice against Katcha robbers, some black sheep of the Punjab Police who were in league with them. Instead of exposing the black sheep hidden within them but they took action against an elected representative.
The police entered Mumtaz Ali Chang’s house at gunpoint, beat up his servants, arrested them and took away their valuable equipment. Although the people of the constituency know that Mumtaz Ali Chang is under serious threat from the Katcha robbers due to his campaign against dacoits.
The Punjab Police first withdrew Mumtaz Chang’s security and then resorted to high-handed tactics against him. The PPP strongly condemned police raid at MPA house and demanded Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz take immediate notice of the police brutality against Member of Provincial Assembly Mumtaz Ali Chang and that the black sheep hidden among the guardians of the law be exposed and given exemplary punishment, otherwise the PPP reserves the right to protest strongly on every platform.
