LAHORE : Police have been accused of ignoring motorcycle theft calls in Lahore as thieves operate with impunity despite city's extensive Safe City cameras network.
Fazal told police that his motorcycle as stolen from Abbott Road on April 11 and it was spotted near Canal Road adjacent to Doctor's Hospital. He told the police about the locations of the motorcycle but he could not elicit any police response. When he made repeated calls to police, the cops told him that they could not intervene because the suspects kept moving across different jurisdictional boundaries.
Fazal said every time I shared my location with the responding officers, they told me that the area was outside their jurisdiction.
